JUST FOR LAUGHS

Cowboy Joe was telling his fellow cowboys back on the ranch about his first visit to a big-city church.

“When I got there, they had me park my old truck in the corral,” Joe began.
“You mean the parking lot,” interrupted Charlie, a more worldly fellow.

“I walked up the trail to the door,” Joe continued.
“The sidewalk to the door,” Charlie corrected him.

“Inside the door, I was met by this dude,” Joe went on.
“That would be the usher,” Charlie explained.

“Well, the usher led me down the chute,” Joe said.
“You mean the aisle,” Charlie said.

“Then, he led me to a stall and told me to sit there,” Joe continued.
“Pew,” Charlie retorted.

“Yeah,” recalled Joe. “That’s what that pretty lady said when I sat down beside her.”

Devotion for the Month

God Is Still on the Phone

“…ye have not, because ye ask not.” – James 4:2

A little girl heard the choir singing that song “God Is Still on the Throne.” She didn’t understand it quite correctly and told someone they were singing “God is still on the phone.” Well, He is!

There’s a heavenly hotline and thankfully God is still on the phone! He answers our prayers. Prayer—that you and I can talk with God—is the greatest Christian privilege. The One Who scooped out the seas, heaped up the mountains, and flung out the stars—the omnipotent God — has invited us to talk with Him. There is no possible way I could overstate the importance of prayer. And I pray that you will never underestimate the importance of prayer.

Prayer is the Christian’s greatest privilege. It is the Christian’s greatest power. But it is also the Christian’s greatest failure. We have not because we ask not. May God forgive us.

COMMUNITY OUTREACH

2017 Brings joy and excitement as our new identity as Family Christian Center offers each person the opportunity to be used by God in their own special and unique way. 2017  is a year of “Relational Ministry” which simply means that all we do will focus on building Relationship reaching our inner families and out to our community.

We are focusing on three (4) areas of Ministry this year, as we continue with the previos goals as well:

1 – Children’s Ministry
2 – Youth Ministry
3 – Senior Outreach

If you are interested in any of the above or any other area of Ministry, please contact us at: www.skyviewchapel.org or by calling 760-366-9119
